Why does the earth rotate?

At the beginning of the universe, there were only gas and dust particles in space. since objects with physical mass have a mutual attraction, the dust particle agglomerated gradually to form larger bodies such as stars and planets. These  bodies started rotating the moment they collided. After many collisions, the rotations got added up. For this reasons, the planets, including the Earth, are in a constant state of motion in their respective orbits.

    assume that the earth stop to rotate. then what happened?

    It is not possible and cannot happened.
    But you can assume that condition.
    we all are held down by gravity and we are whizzing through space at a rotational velocity of 1,674km/hours at the equator. Due to momentum you cannot feel it. But you can feel it when earth will stop to spin. In this condiion, everything on the earth at the equator will be moving at more than 1,674km/hours. but you cannot fly in space because the escape velocity is 40,000km/hours. But it would cause some horrible damage on the earth.
    And other problem is very interesting. There will be not appear day and night. When earth round the sun in 360 days then another night will come. So there will be 6 months day and 6 months night.
