<p>February is the shortest month of the year. It is not that special because you don&#8217;t get to see any major meteor shower. But the February night sky will give us the last chance to watch the winter sky. You will see The Orion constellation and other night-time objects this month. Here is the list of all the night sky events of February 2022 &#8211;</p>

<p><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/20_Massalia">The asteroid 20 Massalia</a> will be at the Opposition on the 5th of February. It means the asteroid will be just <strong>opposite</strong> the Sun. The earth will be in the middle. This is the best chance to observe the asteroid. It will be brightly illuminated. Though you will need a telescope.</p>

<h2 class="has-text-align-center wp-block-heading">Lunar Occultation of Uranus: February 7</h2>



<p>The moon will directly pass through Uranus. The Uranus will hide behind the Moon. It will be visible to those who live in the South Atlantic Ocean. But don&#8217;t worry if you are not living there. Because an occultation occurs almost every month.</p>

<p>The Alpha Centauri Meteor Shower will peak on the night of Feb 8. It comes into action from January 28. It stays till Feb 21. It is in the <a href="https://in-the-sky.org/data/constellation.php?id=20">constellation centaurus</a>. It produces around 2.5 meteors every hour. It will be visible only in the southern hemisphere.</p>

<p>On Feb 9, Venus will shine with all its might. It will be the brightest, shining at a magnitude of -4.5. It will be visible low above the southeastern horizon.</p>

<p>Venus and Mars will rise in the same direction and angle. On the morning of Feb 12, they will be close to each other.</p>

<p>The full moon will appear on 16 Feb. This moon is also known as <strong>Snow Moon.</strong> It is named after the snow on the ground in the Northern Hemisphere. It is also named <strong>&#8216;The Hunger Moon&#8217;</strong> by the North American Tribes. It is because of the lack of food sources during mid-winter.</p>
